Martha Amore teaches in the English Department at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She achieved her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2009 and has published stories in a number of journals and magazines, including Room, Canada’s oldest feminist literary journal. In 2013, VP&D House published her novella in the anthology Weathered Edge: Three Alaskan Novellas. In 2015, she won a Rasmuson Individual Artist Award to complete her collection of short stories, which she hopes to have out in 2018. Her new book, published by the University of Alaska Press and co-edited by Lucian Childs, is an anthology entitled Building Fires in the Snow: A Collection of Alaska LGBTQ Short Fiction and Poetry. She is currently at work on an Interdisciplinary PhD through the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
