Dr. John Nofsinger is the William H. Seward Endowed Chair in International Finance at the College of Business & Public Policy, University of Alaska Anchorage. He is one of the world’s leading experts in behavioral finance.

Professor Nofsinger has authored/coauthored ten finance trade books, textbooks, and scholarly books that have been translated into eleven languages. His book, The Psychology of Investing, is in its 5th edition and is popular with investors and advisors. As such, Dr. Nofsinger is a frequent speaker on this topic, presenting 50+ times at practitioner associations, industry conferences, businesses, and individual investor associations.

Dr. Nofsinger is a prolific scholar who has published in multiple disciplines. He has published 52 articles in prestigious scholarly journals (like the Journal of Finance and Journal of Business) and practitioner journals (like the Financial Analysts Journal and Journal of Wealth Management). He contributes to the scholarly literature and also helps bridge the gap between theory and practice among academics and practitioners. He has numerous scholarly works in all three major areas of finance: (1) investments, (2) corporate finance, and (3) financial markets. But he is most widely known in the area of behavioral finance and has recently been working in socially responsible finance. He has presented his work 60+ times at universities and conferences and collaborated with over 30 other scholars around the world.
